According to information for the official Miss Video Game website the Miss Video Game 2007 came to close today with Lauren Berggren as the winner of the contest which took place at the Festival Arcadia in Canada this year. Berggren, a 20 year old from Mandeville, Louisiana, excelled in many of the contest’s events right from the start. The competitors competed in a variety of games from Mario Kart and Counterstrike Source on the first day to Guitar Hero 3 and Brain Age II on the 2nd and the final challenge consisting of the finalists attempting to outrace each other at a game of Nascar 2008.
The contest winner had this to say about her success: "It`s an amazing feeling to be named Miss Video game. All the other girls I went up against this weekend are wonderful and great at their own games. I just hope I can be a really positive role model for all the young girl-gamers out there."
For winning the contest Berggren receives an all expense paid trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, six days and seven nights at a hotel, 1000 dollars in spending money, and a Nintendo Wii. The complete press release is available for viewing here.
